Are you tired of all the doom, gloom and indigestion you feel because of your loss of hope related to freedom and democracy? Prepare… to be inspired!
This book is not one of doom and gloom, unless you happen to be authoritarian in nature.
Think of it like a new Recipe for Democracy, planted, fertilized, grown, harvested, prepared, served and excreted upon authoritarianism and spread like fertilizer, all across the pro-democracy fields called the internets!
If you are a supporter of authoritarianism, the ingredients of freedom, democracy and self-determination in this book will make you puke, fart and shart until you collapse.
If you are a supporter of freedom, democracy and self-determination, think of this book as a Michelin Star worthy meal.
Recently, I recalled my entrepreneurial feelings when I heard about the internet and the establishment of Amazon, by Jeff Bezos. I thought about the long term returns on investment if he was correct about the coming outcome and how Amazon would come to dominate online economics. But…like all of us I missed the “Elephant In The Room.”
The reason Amazon could and would become a dominant economic powerhouse of this new global online economy was because they would build and control this massive online/virtual consumer base in ways that were never possible before the Internet Communications and AI Age.
What we all failed to realize, and what I have been trying (poorly) to communicate to the world is this simple fact….without us, without this international online consumer base, Amazon becomes “virtually” worthless!
There is a saying about finances in a bad economic downturn “ You either want to be without debt and cash rich–or you want to be heavily in debt using and risking other people’s money, not your own.
In regards to the internet and the virtual world, once any platform or business builds a large online consumer base which determines the value of the company or platform–this is the juncture where almost all of the value, control and viability of those businesses and platforms transitions to the consumer base
“We Do Not Access The Internet–WE ARE THE INTERNET!”
If there is one foundational aspect to take from this book it is that any relatively large unified and coordinated collaboration of citizens and/or consumers on the internet can substantially control the world!
The Recipe!
Have you ever found yourself looking for an item in a store, or perhaps in your refrigerator? Maybe you asked a store clerk where it was or you reached into the fridge to move something so you could see things better, and then it happened!
The whole time you were either staring at the “finish nails” you needed and not seeing them. Or the mayonnaise in your fridge that you moved…it was literally right next to the leftovers you were looking for and yet you looked right at it and didn’t see the leftovers even though your hand actually touched them.
In the once great democracy we call the USA, we would say “ If it was a snake… it would have bit you! “
All across America, and the world, 100’s of millions of us are looking for the answer, The Recipe, on how to protect, save, improve and grow world democracy. Most of us have, to some extent, given up hope. Most pro-democracy world citizens who realize how corrupt and how functionally corrupted our religions, societies, economies and politics have become…most are losing or have lost hope… but some of us have not!
For 30 years freedom and democracy has been documented to be shrinking all across the world. What most people do not realize is that this continuing, until now, 30 year loss of world freedom and democracy has been in direct correlation with something else that has been growing and spreading for those exact same 30 years… The Internet!
If you are my age, mid 60’s, you actually remember the experiences of life before The Internet, Communications & AI Age. I am not college educated, not a big book reader but simply an every day moderately intelligent human who has a knack for solutions…unless they are to my issues, I screw my things up all the time!
The point of all of this is to ask questions, to seek solutions, to be responsible and most of all to accept response-ability™ to help save and improve world democracy. Why you might ask? Because…the thing you have been looking and hoping for, your “finish nails” and leftovers, you have been staring right at and touching them every day and often all day…The Internet!
So… what is the internet? Why has it coincided with the downfall of world democracy and the expansion of world authoritarianism? What is this tool or weapon we can use to save, improve and grow world democracy?
“ A worldwide system of interconnected computer networks and electronic devices that communicate with each other using an established set of protocols. “
If The Internet can destroy democracy that automatically means that it can save democracy…right?
While we all understand this definition to some extent, in our day to day lives we interpret the internet as sources, platforms and social media… “ that we access.“
The purpose, the most important thing you will hopefully take away from this book and all of our communications is this…
The Internet is the most powerful and influential tool and weapon ever. More dangerous than nuclear weapons, more powerful than the biggest earthquake, tsunami and volcanic eruptions all combined. The internet is in many ways like an alternate atmosphere that surrounds and controls our atmosphere and planet. If you doubt this, look at what the internet has done to freedom and democracy! Because we humans can substantially control our atmosphere and planet if we choose to, all we need to do is to accept the response-ability™ of self-determination on the internet! If we humans who are pro-democracy decide to define what it means to be able to say “ I am pro-democracy“ on the internet…we can then redefine what being “pro-democracy” means in every aspect of our lives. THAT is actually the definition of being “self-determinate.” We must determine…to define…who and what we are…as pro-democracy world citizens…in order to become…pro-democracy world citizens, right? How else can I be something, pro-democracy, health conscious, anti-plastic, pro womens rights… if I refuse to define and act upon that which I say that I am?
So, how and why is all of this related to the internet? What is this magic formula or recipe? What is this insanely simple concept we keep looking for and touching, yet it seems invisible to us?
We do not use and access all of these platforms and applications that make up this thing that we call The Internet!
Without us allowing and granting these platforms and applications access to us, all the Facebook’s, TikTok’s, Amazons and formerly non-authoritarian Twitters…
They are all worthless or valuable, based upon how we allow them access to us… WE ARE THE INTERNET!
The Recipe is just that, a recipe on one method, one combination of ingredients and a way to prepare and serve them so as to provide the world with hope and aspiration… a meal we call freedom and democracy.
I have lost a dear friend who believes what most of us know to be truth and fact…throughout history democracy always fails and dies. He is so consumed by this truth that he refuses to even consider trying to protect or promote freedom and democracy, he has surrendered his freedom because he fails to consider the other undeniable known truth and fact…
Every single time in human history that democracy has failed and died…another far better, far bigger form of freedom and democracy has risen from those ashes! Dead rotting stinky democracy always provides the waste and manure from which the next greatest generation and versions of freedom and democracy grows.
The world’s greatest futurist and inventor Buckminster (Bucky) Fuller said this about change and the future…
“ Don’t fight forces, use them. You never change things from within. If you want to change something, build a new model that makes the previous models obsolete! Dare to be naive, we are intended to be architects of the future and not its victims! “
Socrates, the man who chose death to teach us that knowledge, education and information were the key ingredient to democracy said…
“ I know that you won’t believe me but the highest form of human excellence is to always question oneself and others. “
Throughout this book we will include “ Socratic Slams “ as a series of questions intended to make all of us think about freedom and democracy in different ways, especially as related to our current era The Internet, Communications and AI Age.
